Interview with Our Web Manager Bob Wilson on Forthcoming Website Plans
In what we hope to become a regular series, we will be interviewing members of our staff so you can get to know the team at Personal Injury Bristol a lot better so you know who does what and why. This week we decided to have a quick talk with Bob Wilson who manages our website and takes care of general day to day marketing.
Hi Bob, can you give a quick introduction to yourself and tell our readers how long you’ve been involved with Personal Injury Bristol?
Sure! I joined the team in late 2013 and am responsible for all facets of what we do online, whether that’s making people aware of our new pages such as the Bristol no win no fee page via social media, or with other online marketing strategies. Basically if it happens online or something needs to be done then it’s over to me. Outside of work I am a keen runner and family man, responsible for a family of four including two very hyperactive dogs!
So how did you get involved in online marketing for the legal industry?
Well, I actually always wanted to be a personal injury solicitor myself, but ended up kind of falling into online marketing by default whilst at Bristol University. I ended up starting to work for various law firms after I graduated, helping them to generate more online business mainly in the wills and probates area.
Over the last couple of years I’ve started to specialise in personal injury claims, so when the opportunity came up to work with our Bristol personal injury lawyers I couldn’t really say no! Too good an opportunity to pass up in so many ways.
So what does a typical day involve for you when working?
Well, as you guys know, I don’t just work on the Bristol website, but also support online media operations for a number of different legal websites throughout the UK. At the moment we are quite highly focussed on video marketing. We’ve found that it’s a great way to attract and talk to new clients potentially – you can see examples of those videos on most of the main pages on our websites which feature our personal injury solicitors.
Apart from that it’s all about making the phone ring more. Online marketing isn’t just about getting better rankings in Google. The bottom line is the difference it makes to the business, so if we can help to attract more clients in any media or online route then we are doing our job properly.
So what are your plans for the next 6 to 12 months with Personal Injury Bristol?
Currently we are working with some local businesses in order to create some effective and valuable partnerships, I wrote a recent blog post about this a couple of weeks back. I want to get our name out there as much as possible, so creating these strategic partnerships works for both us and our partners. I hope to have more news on this in the future.
Do you ever get to interact with our customers who are looking for a personal injury solicitor or lawyer in Bristol?
Not as much as I would like to be honest! I talk to people on social media and try to answer as many questions as possible, but generally speaking I am behind the scenes for most of the time. I prefer that in truth as like to leave the legal stuff to you guys who know what they are talking about!
