A senior prison officer, who was working in the Segregation Unit at HMP Swaleside in Kent’s Eastchurch, has finally received compensation following being forced out of his job due to a violent attack by an inmate. Iain Fleming suffered horrendous physical injuries as well as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) whilst working in the canteen. An inmate lunged at one of his colleagues brandishing two sharpened plastic knives, and attempted to stab him in the head. Audience member wins damages following set collapse

An audience member of the production Fuerzabruta has been awarded compensation after the set collapsed mid-production at the Roundhouse in London. Nicholas Mackay-Grant suffered serious injuries to his back and damage to his left shoulder when a spinning sail became dislodged and fell onto the audience in January of last year. He was treated in hospital following the incident, but his lawyer said that he continued to suffer for over a year from his injuries. A woman is currently battling BT for personal injury compensation after her car became tangled in cables and pulled down a telegraph pole. 56-year-old Yvonne Battie had been driving home from her sister’s house when the accident happened in December 2012. Newly released figures have revealed that school staff have been awarded a record of £26 million in compensation. A Portsmouth firm has been fined for safety failings after a member of the public was struck by masonry during unsafe overhead work in Surrey.
